SleekSleeves Applauds the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Community

Many in the SleekSleeves community actively pursue type one diabetes (T1D) medical research through advocacy and fundraising. Search online for a way to get involved in this medical community and you’ll find a long list of inspiring JDRF events every month of the year, in every region of the country. Here at SleekSleeves, we’ve been fortunate to connect with a family whose story and dedication to diabetes research resonates within our community. Inspired By Isabella is a site that posts poignant first-hand accounts of family life with young triplets, one of whom has T1D, along with resources and information for others on the same journey.

SleekSleeves first became acquainted with Isabella when she ever so fashionably donned one of our Neon Pink Children’s Arm Bands to cover her OmniPod. It’s hard to believe that was nearly two years ago. Since then, her family’s experiences have informed our understanding of what it means to live with T1D and fine tune our line of Children's Arm Bands.

Isabella’s mom, Kristina, is chairing the TypeOneNation Summit in Cleveland on May 7th and reached out about a unique opportunity to help the community.

This annual one-day event is specially designed to focus on topics meaningful to those living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and their caregivers. It is a great way to connect with other people living with T1D. The day consists of concurrent sessions with recognized leaders in the diabetes arena. The TypeOneNation Summit (formerly known as Talking Type 1) offers sessions from leading scientists and medical experts on leading edge research updates and the latest treatment advances in type 1 diabetes management. Diabetes related industry partners participate which allows guests to see the most up-to-date technology and tools dedicated to helping you live better, healthier lives with diabetes.”

It was from here that SleekSleeves began coordinating with the Inspired by Isabella team to donate Arm Bands to raffle baskets at the event. These baskets will include a selection of SleekSleeves Children’s Arm Bands for coverage of OmniPods and other insulin delivery devices. All in attendance will also receive SleekSleeves discount coupons.

We pride ourselves on actively supporting the many medical communities of which we are a part and we are honored to join JDRF in the pursuit of living better, healthier lives with diabetes.
